Jacques Kallis :: Magical Form

'Magical Form' is an oft-used term in the world of Sports. But rarely is the use justified.

Jacques Kallis' current form is one of the rare deserving candidates for the term. He is opening the batting for RCB and till date has remained not out and has scored at a fairly brisk pace too. Add to that his contribution with the ball.

4 innings not out in a row for an opener is a rare feat and Jacques Kallis has done it and there is every chance of the number increasing. Wishing him Good Luck!

Match 4: KKR vs. RCB

RCB innings was marked by Kallis' 65(52 balls) and tumbling wickets on the other hand. Angelo Mathews came to the party as a baller in this match with 4 for 19 of his 4 overs. The other KKR ballers supported him well to restrict RCB to just 135.

On the other hand KKR had their best ever opening partnership with Hodge (50 of 45) and Tiwary (50 of 29) doing a fantastic job. The KKR innings went off track after these two got out. Ganguly scored 23 of 22 balls and almost took KKR to victory which was eventually sealed in the last over.

Today it was KKR all the way. And SRK was there this time to watch it live. Where's Fake IPL blogger?

Extra: KKR which was at the bottom of the table last year has already defeated both the finalists of IPL2.

Result: KKR win with 4 balls and 7wickets to spare.

Match 3: Delhi Daredevils vs. Kings XI Punjab

Nothing much to talk about in the Kings' innings other than Bopara's 50 and cameos by Junior Pathan and Sreesanth.

While on the other side Gautam Gambhir yet again played a captain's innings and led Delhi to a 5-wicket win.

Extra: It seems people have forgotten that Gambhir was the captain of Delhi Daredevils last year too. Everyone is going gaga over his 'First Time Captainship'

Result: Delhi win by 1 ball and 5 wickets to spare

Match 2: Mumbai Indians vs. Rajasthan Royals

A good opening partnership for Mumbai Indians by Jayasuriya and  Sachin tendulkar. Followed up by Brilliant half-centuries by the young SS Tiwary and AT Rayudu.

RR were down and out. Early fall of wickets combined with a run-rate which wasn't anywhere near the required rate. And the Elder Pathan steps in. A ruthless 37 ball 100 by Yusuf Pathan brought RR into the fray. But they couldn't hold on.

Result: MI wins by 4 runs

Match 1: KKR vs Deccan Chargers

Brilliant knocks by Angelo Mathews(65) and Owais Shah(58) helped KKR reach a respectable total after the early loss of 4 top-order batsmen. A good innings by Gilchrist goes waste as Murli Karthik tightened the run-scoring.

End-Result: KKR wins by 11 runs.

- No new teams added this year.
- The cheerleaders are back. But, there is nothing to cheer about as far as they are concerned.
